Want to bring an art project to SideBurn but have not received a grant from us? We’d still love to have your art!

Registration for 2026 is OPEN — submissions close on March 22, 2026.

You should fill this form out if

You did not receive a grant from us and want to bring your self-funded art as a gift

AND any of the following apply to you:

You want your art to show up on the SideBurn map
You need a location for your art – our Placement team will do their best to accommodate your request
Your independent art piece has a fire component or flame effect
Your independent art piece will have a generator
Your independent art piece will have amplified sound

Important: This does not guarantee you a ticket. You’ll need to secure one through our general sale or a directed sale (e.g., theme camp or volunteer sales).

If you’re receiving an art grant, there’s no need to fill out this form—we’ve already got your project covered! To register your independent art (self-funded) for placement consideration, complete this form. We do not guarantee placement, but will try to find a location for as many projects as possible. This form must be completed by March 22, 2026 to be considered for placement.

Project Risk Analysis(Required)

We need to know of any potential safety concerns associated with your project as well as your strategy for controlling each risk. Describe how you plan to keep your project, the participants, and the land safe.

Leave No Trace (LNT) Plan(Required)

How will your project accomplish the LNT ( Leave-No-Trace) requirements at Sideburn? Please note that all burning art projects will be required to dispose of leftover debris and ashes.

Lighting, Power, Fire, or Sound

Please be aware that there is no power available on site. Artists are expected to provide their own power generation if it is needed for their project.

All Theme Camp, Art Installation, and Mutant Vehicle applications require disclosure of the presence or inclusion of a laser as part of the project or operation. Board members will visit projects on Thursday and Friday to assess laser installations for safety.
